S Mangal Singh Gill (Tehsildar) and S. Chanchal Singh (Jandiala, Jalandhar) were created in charge of the newspaper. The newspaper was saved from an untimely demise when Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya stepped into realizing his vision of a paper in Delhi.

Malaviya increased $50,000 rupees to Get the Hindustan Times Together with the help of nationalist leaders Lajpat Rai and M. R. Jayakar and industrialist G. D. Birla, who paid all their money. Birla took complete control of the newspaper in 1933. The paper is still owned by the Birla family.

It has its origins in the Indian independence movement of the first half of the twentieth century and even Confronted the noted”Hindustan Times Contempt Case (August–November 1941)” in Allahabad High Court.
