- EEG, a medical test that measures the brain's electrical activity, has become an important tool for understanding the brain and diagnosing neurological disorders.
- In 1924, working in near isolation and excruciating boredom, Hans Berger observed rhythmic electrical activity from the scalps of human subjects in Jena, Germany.
- Convinced that this activity originates from within the brain, he coined the term “electroencephalogram”. It took another decade for the scientific community to accept Berger's work, marking the birth of the field of electroencephalography.

- After the National Education Policy Draft recommended to reduce the standard of 10th and 12th examinations, now the new format of examinations has been clarified in the draft National Curriculum Framework. It has been recommended in the plan that the assessment at the important stages of 10th and 12th should be implemented on the basis of semester system instead of only on the basis of annual examination, and also the marks of 11th should be taken into consideration in the final result of 12th.
- The National Council of Educational Research and Training announced the interim draft of the National Curriculum on Thursday. Along with the changes in the courses, the changes in the teaching method, evaluation method are also included in it. Many aspects like further admission, choice of faculty depend on the two stages of 10th i.e. secondary school examination and 12th i.e. higher secondary school examination. So these exams are of unique importance.
- Presently, various state boards including Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conduct the 10th and 12th examinations at the end of the year and the final results are declared based on the performance of the students in that single examination.
