World Water Day

  • World Water Day is observed on March 22 every year to create awareness about the global water crisis and the importance of water.
  • To sustainably manage freshwater resources, address water-related issues and Sustainable Development Goal 6:
  • The day aims to inspire people to achieve water and sanitation for all by 2030.
  • In 1992, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution to celebrate World Water Day on March 22 every year.
  • The first World Water Day was celebrated in 1993 and since then the day has been celebrated around the world to highlight the importance of water.

China's lunar exploration program

  • China's lunar exploration program is a series of ongoing robotic lunar missions by the China National Space Administration (CNSA).
  • The program includes lunar orbiters, landers, rovers and sample return spacecraft launched using Long March rockets.
  • Its mission is to study the lunar surface, geology, and environment, as well as to demonstrate and develop new technologies for space exploration.

IMF to disburse $1.1 billion to Pakistan

  • The summit, held for the first time outside the United States, aimed to champion and spread the idea of ​​democracy globally.


  • This year's season of Indian Premier League (IPL), the world's biggest and most popular Twenty20 tournament, will start from March 26 and this time, statistical robots will be used for the first time.

  • Star Sports, the channel that broadcasts the 'IPL', is increasingly focusing on the use of technology and this year will be using a statistical robot called 'Crico' to provide the commentators with the necessary information about the teams during the matches. This information was given by Sanjog Gupta, Head of Sports Department of Disney Star.

  • “We have created a statistical robot called 'Crico'. He will help the commentators. If our commentators want to know how many times Virat Kohli has been dismissed on a particular ball in the IPL, they can ask Crico. He will answer their question in 30 seconds,'' said Gupta.

  • Also this year for the first time all 74 matches will be commented in Marathi language. Sandeep Patil, Amol Mazumdar, Snehal Pradhan and Vinod Kambli among others will be seen in the role of commentator. This year's 'IPL' series matches will be held in Maharashtra.


For the first time in 'IPL' use of statistical robot:

Meanwhile, the School Education Minister has taken a big decision for Marathi media. Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, he has given information regarding this.

  • Varsha Gaikwad said that Marathi schools will be introduced to students from the very beginning even in Marathi media, while Marathi schools are declining due to parents' insistence on learning English. Varsha Gaikwad has informed that from this academic year, bilingual textbooks will be ready to introduce children to English words in daily use.

  • “Many MLAs have said that the syllabus of CBSE, ASIASE is like this. One thing I would like to humbly say is that we have a board and it also exists. We are trying to improve its curriculum. We are changing the curriculum of the first one and we are changing the curriculum of the second one where there are ideal schools,” said Varsha Gaikwad.

  • Speaking further, she said, “Every child understands well in his mother tongue. But at the same time we are doing this so that the word should know what the English word is. We are strictly following that there will be no burden of books. Therefore, we are currently bringing integrated and bilingual textbooks for the state itself”.
